I draw from the body—where feeling meets form

Drawing becomes method, mark becomes meaning

Eileen Cubbage is an interdisciplinary artist whose work bridges drawing, painting, fiber art, digital media, sound, and text-based installation. Her practice centers the body as a site of inquiry—where awareness, perception, and transformation emerge through mark-making

With over 30 years of experience in drawing and painting, Eileen has exhibited, taught, and studied internationally. Blending her background in fine art with certifications in yoga, somatics, movement studies, meditation, and Guided Drawing™, she creates spaces for artists to reconnect with their creative voice and make art with clarity and presence.

Her work explores the body as a living archive—where movement, memory, and emotion intersect to shape creative perception and embodied identity. Through somatic awareness and process-driven inquiry, she guides others to translate inner experience into bold, expressive form.

Eileen holds an MFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University. Her work has been supported by residencies and exhibitions at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts, New York Studio School Drawing Marathon, Pyramid Atlantic Paper Studio, and Takt Kunstprojektraum Berlin. International projects include Textile Quintet at FAVElab Greece, Unity Space Athens (Integrative Somatic Arts Certification), STOA Center for Body Art Studies in Şirince, Turkey (Butoh Invasion), and Arthouse Pani in Mexico.

As an educator, she has taught at Moore College of Art & Design, University of the Arts, Fleisher Art Memorial, and SCAD Hong Kong and Savannah. She is currently developing curriculum on sensorimotor movement-based performance drawing, designing a comprehensive digital archive on mark-making, and writing a book on drawing as a contemplative practice.
